Kwe good people (In Algonquian, since I am on unceded Algonquin territory, in Ottawa).
I am pretty thrilled to beginning this journey led by @johnc77.
I come from the Andes mountains and the Amazonian basin. I am an indigenous Elder from the Quechua - Aymara nations, responsibly living on Algonquin territory in Canada.
I have been teaching at the University of Ottawa for 13+ years, in the fields of History, Political Sciences, Epistemology, Development and Global Issues, and, my favourite, Indigenous Studies. I am indigenous myself and I am in awe at learning the teachings of other mature cultures. I came to living and teaching to the back of the turtle (North America) sent by my grandmothers, to fulfill the Prophecy of the Rencounter of the Eagle and the Condor. That’s what I am doing.
As an Elder, my firstmot instruction is to help those that are in need. Please do not hesitate in reaching out and if things are within my reach, I will gladly do whatever to support my peers, other humans like myself. Jikisinkama (I will see you soon, in Aymara)
