It's Been A Long Time Coming

Oh boy, it’s good to be here and even better to meet you all.
I’m Jon and currently reside in the UK, which, for your information, is cold and damp today.
That said, I have a sunny disposition which is even brighter now that I’ve completed the first module.
Being between jobs (forklift driving for an agency) I decided to take advantage of the time off and the owed holiday pay.
I must have seen an iteration of John’s course a number of years ago and remember at the time being very close to signing on.
Unfortunately, I got sidetracked and it’s taken till now to have the opportunity to go for it.
In that ‘distracted sabbatical’ I did find a love of writing, albeit under a pseudonym, which was enlightening/satisfying but not very financially rewarding.
I have a massive ‘WHY’, which we’ll get to another time and that will fuel this burning desire to be a successful, online marketer.
I look forward to being an active member of the community and meeting/getting to know as many of you that care to interact.
My current favourite quote: “Always a pleasure, never a chore.”

Hi, Jon! I’m a fellow newbie as well, working my way through module 1. I got a little stuck because my offer included an LLC connection to set up an LLC account, which I’d like to do prior to getting involved with Clickbank or any other affiliate payout company.

Did you find the LLC link, or are you choosing to use your personal info for payment? I cannot seem to locate anything. I understand you’re in the UK, so things are likely different, tax-wise… and I wish you the best in your journey! Love the quote, too!

Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
Nice to meet you :grinning:

I haven’t come across the LLC link as yet and my knowledge on these things is limited. I have changed one of my Paypal accounts to the business version but that’s as far as it goes.

Over here you can set up a company online and for a small fee (approx $10). There are definite tax benefits.

I’ll cross that bridge as and when, for now I’ll stick with being a ‘solopreneur’ or ‘sole trader’ until things get wild.

We also get a grace period of a few months before having to register yourself as ‘self-employed’.

Maybe someone will see this post and point you in the right direction, I hope so.

Good luck also, I’m still like ‘a kid in a candy store’ with all this.

Jon

Yes, I’m also like a kid in a candy store! There are deep waters to dive into here and I am glad to have this roadmap.

I posted my LLC question to the support email since I did not find any reference to it in the help section or community forum. I’m sure someone will point me in the right direction.

I can tell this will be labor intensive at first and there will be struggles and challenges, but I think affiliate marketing is a great opportunity and if I don’t have to have a lot of monthly subscriptions for support software or accessory charges, then I think once we understand how to pick good products/services to promote and grasp the ad buy concepts (keyword choices, placement types, etc), we’ll feel more confident.

Totally agree. Knowing where all the dots are is one thing, connecting them all up properly is where this will take us.

Jon

I received a reply, since I was thinking their info was conflicting about the LLC. Module 1 wants us to set our Clickbank account but the LLC information to set up the tax # for business isn’t until Module 13… I was advised I could change my tax info on Clickbank from my personal to business at a later date.

So I am OK with everything now and will move on in my studies. The support team is responsive - I am impressed. I got answers within 24 hours.
