I am Cheryl.
I have was in Nursing school (UT) going for my RNBSN 2 years ago.
My mom went in for surgery for her second cancer surgery. I had already noticed signs of Alzheimers, so when I went home, I was unprepared for what I was in for.
I had planned to finish Nursing School but as we all know life can throw us cruel blows.
With my father also in ill health with his heart and bad knees, I decided to stay.
We have dealt with Covid, snow storms that are unheard of here in east Texas, frozen pipes, no water…
Coming home was the best decision.
I live in a very small town and work as CNA in Nursing home. It is not unusual for me to work 140 to 180 hrs during a 2 week period, but now our nursing home is plagued with the Covid.- 19.
I contracted the covid and decided during recovery I need something else to help myself and my parents.
I do not regret my decision, yet pay here is not all that great and wish to work on making some money that I can retire on as I am now 63.
I am loving the courses and want to continue to learn to make the of what is being taught by these wonderful teachers.
Looking to traveling this path with my fellow community,
