Google Clicks Vs Google "Maximize Conversions"

Hi All, need some help to make sure I am understanding Google advertising.

Google is recommending to change my bidding objective from Clicks to Conversions.

Can someone explain these 2 options better?

I am thinking since I have a LEAD conversion objective defined in Google Analytics and added to my Google Ads account, Google is trying to save me money and get me better traffic?

Does this make sense? Thanks
