Facebook Ad Creation

Hello everyone,

I just completed week 1 and thought i’d share a bump in the road I ran into. John’s video of creating the ad is using an old version of facebook’s ad creation. When creating a new ad, I saw that there was a place for “Website URL” and “Display Link (optional)”. I just put in my website’s URL in the field for Website URL as instructed in the video and left the Display Link one blank since it says optional. Afterwards I moved on and submitted my ad.

Now, in my case, my ad account has no spend history since I just setup. Took about a hour, and it got denied. I went back to edit my ad and saw in the preview, below the thumbnail of vide and above headline, it had my clickfunnels url listed. I remember reading somewhere (not sure if was with this program or another i’ve tried in the past), that Facebook doesn’t like clickfunnel urls. I went back to ad setup and added my website url in the box for the Display Link and the preview changed to show mine. I then republished and another hour later, it was approved. I did not have to dispute and send the letter at this time.

I hope this lessons future new users’ frustrations.

Thanks for the tip Charles.

Great tip Charles and thanks for sharing it in the Forum for others to learn from as well.

Thanks Charles,
I’ll be sure to refer back to this post if this happens to me.

Thanks for the post, Charles.

It looks like Facebook changed its layout since you posted. I do not see an option for “display link” and my ad preview is displaying the clickfunnels url and not my bluehost domain url.

Does clickfunnels not have proper domain integration with bluehost/wordpress??
